Columbia City Flag - Double Sided (Extra Heavy)
Show your Columbia pride with our beautiful city flag.
Each part of the flag represents something about our city and its special identity and history. Through an extensive public process, the Columbia Design League and One Columbia for Arts and Culture worked with the City of Columbia to arrive at a flag that no longer represented just the government of the City of Columbia, but rather its people. Designed by Nate Puza of The Half and Half.
The flag represents the three rivers, that the city is a capital city, and showcases the wind. Navy blue is a trustworthy color, and visually connects the city flag to the flag of the State of South Carolina. It is often associated with knowledge and integrity. Light blue represents freedom, innovation, and tranquility. Together, these evoke a sense of hospitality and stability. A simple bold abstract wing set against a navy-blue field. The star represents Columbia as a capital city. The six points represent resilience, as Columbia has faced many challenges in its history. The three sections of the wing represent the three rivers, all converging together in Columbia and a vital part of the unique identity of the City.

Double-sided flags are three layers of fabric that allow zero light through, but any text on the design will read correctly on both sides. They are therefore heavier, and work great as display flags. You can definitely use them outdoors, but note that it takes more wind to get going due to their added weight. During storms, we suggest taking them in as they get even heavier and are more likely to be damaged.
